Yet another manager calls Liverpool best side

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka says Liverpool were “impossible” to play against in comparison to the rest of the top teams in the Premier League.

The Reds ran riot against Boro __with two goals from Adam Lallana and one from Divock Origi sending Jurgen Klopp’s side second in the league standings with a 3-0 win.

And Karanka, whose Middlesbrough side have already played league leaders Chelsea, was full of admiration and praise for his opponents.

“We’ve played the top of the league teams this season and we have competed against every one of them but today it was impossible,” said Karanka.

“Liverpool were much better than us, in their intensity, in everything. When they were winning 2-0 they kept the same intensity, they wanted every ball and they moved the ball at amazing speed.”

Karanka isn’t the first manager to name Liverpool as their toughest opponents, __with Tony Pulis, Alan Pardew and Walter Mazzarri all having the Reds down as the best team they’ve faced.

Boro must now turn their attention to Saturday’s crucial relegation battle against Swansea at the Riverside Stadium.

Karanka added: “We just have to keep going. We can’t forget the good season we are having so far, we have to recover as soon as possible because we have an important game on Saturday.”
