Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has denied reports that Kevin Wimmer is set to leave the club on loan.
The Austrian defender is currently behind Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier in the White Hart Lane pecking order at centre-back.
Wimmer has managed just two appearances in the Premier League this season and only 12 overall since he arrived from Koln last year.
And it has been suggested that the 24-year-old could rejoin his former club in order to secure some much-needed first-team football when the window opens.
However, when asked if Wimmer is set for a New Year loan, the Spurs boss said: "No. we are not talking about that internally.
"I am still very happy with him, he is still very young.
"When he brought him he was not only for the present but for the future.
"I don't expect that players will leave the squad in January, it makes no sense."
