Manchester United news: 'I still don’t think people understand how good he was' - Carrick names best-ever team-mate

Michael Carrick has named Paul Scholes as his best-ever Manchester United teammate.

The 35-year-old has played alongside a host of iconic players during his decade-long stay at Old Trafford, including Roy Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs.

But Carrick says none of them compare to his old midfield partner Scholes, telling talkSPORT's Sam Matterface: "He was something else.

"The game was so easy for him at times. Even now I still don’t think people understand how good he was as a footballer."
