Leeds United will be hoping to strengthen their position in the Championship play-off places when they travel to Birmingham City on Friday evening.

Garry Monk’s side, who __have lost two of their last five league outings, are fourth in the second tier, eight points ahead of seventh-placed Fulham.

The West Yorkshire side will be boosted by the return of left-back Charlie Taylor. The highly-rated 23-year-old, who has been out of action with an Achilles problem since December, may not make an instant return though with replacement Gaetano Berardi excelling in his place.

Young defenders Tyler Denton [knee] and Lewie Coyle [foot] are the only absentees for Monk’s team, while the former Swansea boss will __have to watch from the stands as he serves a touchline suspension.

They face a Birmingham side who won last time out at Wolves and Gianfranco Zola will be hoping to build on his side’s progress after securing his second victory [in 15 games] as Brum boss.

It is a big few days for Monk as they face City before travelling to play-off rivals Fulham on Tuesday evening.
