Wayne Rooney was absent from the Manchester United squad at Chelsea due to a training injury.
The 30-year-old forward has started five of the last seven matches for club and country as a substitute.
Rooney started Thursday’s 4-1 Europa League win against Fenerbahce but did not travel to London __with the United squad due to an unspecified injury.
Rooney has a thigh injury, and didn't travel.

“Injured in training in the last session,” Mourinho told Sky Sports of his captain’s absence.
“He was so keen to play against Fenerbahce that he hid it and then he felt it in the training session and he couldn’t come.”
