He is one of a sextet of Louis van Gaal’s signings – along __with Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin – who has been pushed out by Mourinho, but Rojo is convinced that he is part of the manager’s plans.
“It was much said that he didn’t want me. But from the first day he arrived, he told me he had me in mind and would count on me,” he said.
“He’s a very good manager, very demanding, I like his way of thinking and dealing with players. I got a big surprise.”
Rojo was also asked by ESPN Radio about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and he said: “He’s a character, I thought he was more serious. We spend a lot of time together. He speaks Spanish and Italian and spends time making jokes.”
