Leeds United manager Garry Monk handed touchline ban for Derby trip

Leeds United manager Garry Monk has been handed a one-match touchline ban.

Monk was sent to the stands by referee Keith Stroud in the closing stages of his side's 1-0 defeat at Bristol City last month following an outburst on the sidelines.

The 37-year-old decided not to contest an Football Association misconduct charge of "using abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official".

He will now be forced to watch Saturday's trip to Derby from the stands and has also been hit with a £2,000 fine.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner has received the same fine - but no ban - after he also accepted a misconduct charge, the FA announced on its official Twitter account.

The governing body considered his behaviour at the end of Town's recent 1-0 defeat at Reading to __have amounted to improper conduct.

Huddersfield saw midfielder Rajiv van La Parra sent off in that match and four other players booked.
