Ander Herrera was handed his first international call-up this week.

The Manchester United midfielder has played his way into Jose Mourinho's starting XI in recent weeks after impressive performances in the holding role. The well overdue phonecall from Royal Spanish Football Federation came after Javi Martinez was forced to withdraw due to injury.

At talkSPORT, it was surprising to hear it will be the Spaniard's first involvement with the senior team.
