Christian Eriksen says Tottenham are now longer a “middle to top club”, and can compete for major honours.
The north London side are the only unbeaten side remaining in this season’s Premier League after beating Manchester City 2-0 on Sunday.
Many predict that Mauricio Pochettino’s men are capable of improving on their third-place finish last campaign.
That represented Tottenham’s best Premier League season in their history, and Eriksen, who recently signed a new contract at the club until 2020, believes it shows that they are only getting better.
“I wanted to extend, because I feel that we can take the next step, which is to be at the top,” he told Tipsbladet.
“In the past Tottenham have been a middle to top club, but __with the players we have in the squad, our way of playing and a new stadium, then there is a possibility that we may be at the top.
“Now we play also in the Champions League, as we did in the past, and that is something I like. I personally had no doubt that I wanted to stay and be a part of the building.”
