Shaw on ‘individual training regime’ at Man United

Luke Shaw is reportedly on an ‘individual training regime at Carrington this week’ after suffering pain in his leg and missing last weekend’s win over Swansea.

The England and Manchester United full-back was publicly criticised by manager Jose Mourinho, who said there is a difference “between the brave, who want to play at any cost, and the ones for whom a little pain can make a difference”.

Shaw has not joined up __with England, staying in Manchester along __with Chris Smalling, who was also named by Mourinho as a player unwilling to play in pain.

The Daily Mail claim that most players not on international duty have been given days off, but Shaw is training alone.

They say: ‘Among other things he will work with the physio, in the pool and complete a running programme this week, while Chris Smalling is also thought to be working on a foot problem at the Aon training complex in Carrington.’

Shaw and Smalling are both expected to declare themselves fit to face Arsenal on November 19, possibly aware that United’s senior players are reportedly backing Mourinho.
