Ex-Arsenal man: Would anyone else have signed Zlatan?

Ian Wright has laid into Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after his recent performances.

Ibrahimovic joined United as a free agent in the summer, and took to life in England well __with five goals in his first five appearances.

However, the striker has now scored just one goal in his last 11 games.

He came on as a first-half substitute for the injured Paul Pogba in the Europa League defeat to Fenerbahce, where he failed to change the course of the game.

Former Arsenal striker Wright does not believe any other leading Premier League club would have signed the 35-year-old.

“From the start of the season, the only thing keeping him in the team was the fact that he was scoring those goals,” Wright told The Sun.

“His movement has not been great. I’m going to be totally honest, I’m not sure too many other teams would have signed him, even on a free.

“You look at the way Manchester City are playing, the way Chelsea are playing, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, all vibrant, teams __with pace and exuberance.

“And you look at Man United, it’s slow, and he’s got a massive part to play in that.

“I’ve not seen Ibra play well for 10-15 games, and Man United need it especially the way they are playing.”
