Jermaine Beckford will not have the chance to repeat his FA Cup heroics after being ruled out of Preston's fifth-round clash with Manchester United at Deepdale on Monday.
Jermaine Beckford: Has cup past against United
The striker played under Lilywhites boss Simon Grayson for Leeds and scored the winner in their third-round victory at Old Trafford five years ago, but he continues to be sidelined by an ear infection.
Top scorer Joe Garner will fancy his chances of stealing the limelight this time round after scoring two goals against Chesterfield in midweek on his first start since picking up a knee injury in November.
Grayson said: "It's remarkable that everybody seems to be available for selection on Monday night. We'll try to select a team that will go and do the football club proud."
Robin van Persie is a doubt for Monday's match because of an unspecified injury, Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has revealed.
The knee injury Phil Jones suffered against Burnley is not as bad as first feared, but he is unlikely to play at Preston.
Daley Blind, who came off in the first half against Burnley after a clash of heads, is more likely to play, though.
Van Gaal reported some bad news regarding Michael Carrick, who has suffered a setback in his recovery from the calf injury he suffered at the end of last month.
Carrick was supposed to be out for four weeks, but his lay-off could last longer.
