Brazil international Miranda insists he is “enjoying” life at Atletico Madrid but refused to rule out a move away from the La Liga champions in the future.
Brazil international Miranda is happy with life at Atletico Madrid.
The centre-back has been a key figure for Diego Simeone’s side since joining them on a free transfer from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2011, and he was a key component of their title-winning campaign last term.
His performances led to a number of Premier League clubs - reportedly Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea – unsuccessfully trying to lure him away from the Vicente Calderon last summer.
However, recent reports in Spain have suggested that Atleti are planning to cash in on Miranda after the emergence of Uruguay international Jose Maria Gimenez.
Despite those reports, the Brazilian defender insists he is happy with the way things are going under Simeone at present, but refused to rule out a move away in the future.
Speaking at a press conference, Miranda said: “My future? I can only say my present.
My present is Atletico Madrid. I have a contract and I am enjoying and playing in the best way possible.”
Atletico forced their way back into the La Liga title race last weekend with their thumping 4-0 win over rivals Real Madrid.
Simeone’s men are just four points off top spot and travel to Celta Vigo on Sunday hoping to keep pace with Real and Barcelona in the title race.
