Tottenham goalkeeper Michel Vorm admits he was “gutted” after his late blunder led to the Londoners going out of the FA Cup.
Michel Vorm's late error handed Leicester a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane
However, Vorm says he is now determined to focus on Wednesday night’s huge Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Spurs lost 2-1 to Leicester in Saturday’s fourth-round tie, despite having led 1-0 with just seven minutes left.
And, although Vorm made some key saves in the first half, he allowed Jeff Schlupp’s stoppage-time shot to slip past him and into the net.
Vorm told Spurs TV: “If that happens earlier in the game, maybe you can turn it around, but at the end makes it even worse.
"When the ball goes in, it is horrible, but that is football.
"I am gutted now, but you have to go on because there is another big game ahead on Wednesday, and we have to focus on that as quickly as possible."
Vorm played in Tottenham’s 1-0 win in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final last week and may well retain his place, although first-choice Hugo Lloris is obviously also a candidate to start.
Mauricio Pochettino said: "It is important to keep our motivation and confidence, because we need to play on Wednesday with our best performance. It will be a really tough game.”
