Simon Grayson hopes the floodgates can open for Preston striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake after he bagged his first goal in 21 months.
Simon Grayson: Hopes for more of the same from striker
Ebanks-Blake, 28, spared North End's blushes by scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with struggling Yeovil at Deepdale, the first time he had found the back of the net since April 1, 2013 when he netted a brace for Wolves.
The former Manchester United trainee has played little football in the 21 months since and Grayson acknowledged it will take him time to get back up to speed after only signing earlier in January.
"We wanted to give him that chance to get a goal," said Grayson.
"We only put him on for 10-15 minutes but we're working hard with him in training. We knew he wouldn't have to do too much running, he would just have to be instinctive and look for little balls dropping down or crosses into the box.
"You saw his quality with the overhead kick which nearly won it for us. He's showing good signs and hopefully there's lots more goals and performances for everyone to see."
Another North End newcomer has quickly adapted to his new surroundings, with on-loan goalkeeper Sam Johnstone named man of the match against the Glovers after making a pair of crucial first-half stops.
"He's settled in really well," Grayson noted.
"We'd like him not to be working as much as he has done. He kicks a good ball, is composed and hasn't done a lot wrong since he's been here."
